Bears in Trees for a Northcountry Christmas
A cabin style Christmas brings thoughts of log cabins with roaring fires in rustic stone fireplaces, pinecone wreaths, snow covered trees, frozen lakes and hot chocolate on a cold winter's night,
A wonderful Christmas bear in an alpine pine tree is just the type of decoration to add to that wonderful outdoorsy rustic feel. Selections for these alpine trees include a 40 inch tabletop tree to a full 6 foot version and are decorated with a frolicing cubs or a large bear. These wonderful bears in trees are an eye-catching decoration for all year long. Choose the styles that have burlap wrapped bases rather than the red base for year long use.
Decorative Wreaths with an Outdoorsy Look
Wreaths can be used not only to greet your guests on a front door, but can also be used to encircle pillar candles, decorate interior doors or walls or add a festive touch to a table centerpiece. If you buy a wreath in several sizes you can use them throughout your holiday decor for a coordinated look. Add a large wreath for your front door, buy smaller wreaths for interior doors or pillar candles and mid size wreaths for interior wall decoration or to encircle candles in glass containers or for the base of holiday punch bowls.
You can select from wreath designs that really add to your rustic cabin look. Choose a wreath that is made from leaves or grasses, pine decorated with berries or pinecones or pinecone wreaths.
Candles for Your Cabin Style Christmas
Add the Warm Glow of Christmas Candles
No cabin Christmas decor would be complete without the sparkle and glow of candles. Choose candles with evergreen, gingerbread or cinnamon scents to add ambiance to your decor. Add in pillar candles decorated with real evergreen sprigs. Candles are now available not only with traditional wicks but also with liquid wax votive inserts or battery operated votive inserts to keep your candle in perfect condition for many years.
When arranging candles use an eclectic mix of sizes and styles along a stone mantlepiece. Mix decorated candles as shown right with solid green and red pillars of varying sizes. Add real pine boughs or wrap a faux pine garland through the candle arrangement.
A tabletop can be dressed for the holidays with a large terra cotta flower pot saucer, or a shallow basket or shallow wooden bowl or tray as a base for a collection of candles in varying sizes and heaped with pinecones and red berries or pine boughs and pinecones. Make sure to use either a liquid wax votive style candle or a candle with a battery operated votive.
Rich Texture for the Holidays
One of the easiest ways to add holiday touches to your home is with woven tapestries. There are wonderful selections of wall hangings, tapestry and woven throws, tapestry throw pillows and tapestry placemats. Use any of these for festive touches around your home or for a coordinated look display matching items. Select from a themed design or even a soft warm solid color woven throw. Designs that feature forests and forest animals or snowy landscapes, pine trees or red cardinals are wonderful selections for rustic cabin decor. What could be more inviting than a warm looking throw for the holiday season!
Tapestry wall hangings are a great way to add Christmas wall decor that is easy to remove and store from year to year. The rich texture of the tapestry combined with vibrant color and texture make this an excellent choice for holiday decor. Hang these tapestries above a fireplace, on a wall to greet guests, or even above a bed for a touch of holiday decor in a bedroom.
For the finishing touches to your holiday decor consider adding a faux fur rug in a snowy white color. These beautiful rugs add a snowy glamour to your holiday decor.
